Whether you’ve just moved to the city, are looking to make new friends, or simply want to start dancing, this class is designed to be easy, social, and pressure-free. *No previous dance experience needed.* **What you will learn** * What makes salsa special and how to dance to the music * Basic salsa steps * How leading and following works * Cross body lead and basic turns The focus is on learning the fundamentals while enjoying the social side of dancing. **Who this class is for** * Absolute beginners * People new in town * Anyone curious about salsa * Anyone looking to meet people through dance You can come **alone or with a partner**. We rotate partners when exercises allow it, so everyone gets a chance to practice and connect. ***FAQ*** **I am in the waiting list. Should I still come to the class?** We try to keep the classes as balanced as possible, so if we notice we are getting too many leaders/followers we move people around to waitlist. Sadly not everyone who signed up attends the class, so you can always still show up and see if there is a shortage of leaders/followers. **Want to increase your odds to get a spot for the class?** Then we highly suggest to come with a partner (leader+follower), as we always give them priority. **Why am I in the waiting list I was earlier/first?** There is two reasons, either you have attended the class before or, more likely, you didn't show up to a class you signed up for before. Our classes are free, we do this as volunteers and because we love to introduce people to dancing. ***When you take a spot and don't cancel your attendance in a timely manner or at all it means you took a spot that someone else would have gladly taken, so we kindly ask you to change your RSVP accordingly.***

This is a guided yet fully improvised experience, using the facilitation tools and methods of [Musica do Circulo](https://www.musicadocirculo.com/en). No prior experience is required, only an openness to connect with other humans in your own fun, light and authentic way. Circle songs are an invitation into a fully immersive, fully improvised musical experience using vocals, body percussion and movement.
