Whether you're just getting started or want to try something new, this class is about visual exploration without any level pressure. Together, we’ll swap the fear of getting it wrong for the fun of discovering what’s possible. In the drawing days, we’ll cover the basics like shapes, shading, and perspective, and try out approaches like still life, improvisation, and life drawing. 12 Drawing/Printmaking Sessions This is an art class that brings together the freedom of drawing and the playfulness of printmaking! All in a cozy, welcoming space of Zimmerli atelier and Mathias Gentinetta’s Workshop! In the printmaking days, we’ll experiment with: * TETRA PAK PRINTING turning recycled cartons into art * MONOTYPE spontaneous, expressive mark-making * COLLAGRAPHS using natural and found textures to create prints * LINOPRINT / WOODCUT traditional technique of printmaking with open possibilities of experimentation. * COLLECTIVE PRINTMAKING Big scale print from everyones prints. * ENGRAVING / ETCHING Printmaking lessons will be with Mathias Gentinetta and Artemis Tsakiri. The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI One does not simply build reports on OLTP data. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again. We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind.
