Guided Reflection Circle - Inspired by Systemic Counseling
Sometimes we keep thinking about the same situation, emotion, or life question — but cannot fully see it from the outside.
As part of my studies in Systemic Counseling (“Systemische Beratung”), I would like to create a small, professionally inspired reflective space for thoughtful and respectful conversations.
In this reflection circle, one person at a time can share something that is currently on their mind, while the others listen carefully and later reflect on what they noticed, felt, or understood from their own perspective.
The goal is not to give quick advice or “fix” problems.
The goal is to discover new perspectives through attentive listening and structured reflection.
✨ No experience is needed.
The format will be guided step by step in a calm and supportive atmosphere.
🌿 How it works
1️⃣ (10 min) Warm-up & casual conversation
2️⃣ (05 min) One person shares a personal situation or question while the others listen without interrupting
Possible starting points:
• A situation I keep thinking about
• Something emotionally confusing
• A transition phase in my life
• A question I cannot fully answer yet
• A pattern I notice in relationships/work
3️⃣ (05 min) The sharing person remains silent for a moment while the others gently reflect together.
The focus is not on fixing or giving advice, but on sharing:
• What touched me
• What I noticed
• What image or metaphor came to mind
• What dynamic I sensed
• What contradiction I observed
• What emotion I felt while listening
Participants speak with each other — not directly to the sharing person.
This often creates the feeling of being thoughtfully and respectfully witnessed by a group.
4️⃣ (05 min) The sharing person responds:
• What resonated
• What surprised them
• What felt meaningful
🌿 Communication Style
• We listen without interrupting
• We avoid immediately fixing or advising
• Different perspectives are welcome
• Everyone shares only what feels comfortable
• Quiet listening is also completely okay

Hello Friends!
This weekend, the traditional "Marche de l'Armée" will take place in Diekirch.
Also known as the "Marche Internationale de Diekirch" or "March Militaire" or "Will I ever be able to walk on these feet again", it was initially an event organized by the Luxembourg Military, with participating groups from the French, Belgian, and German armies.
At some point, private citizens joined, and it became an event officially open to the public.
That's what the legend says, and we will probably not know much more, because even the "history of the walk" page on the official website only elaborates endlessly on the life of "John the Blind, count of Luxembourg", who was chosen for the emblem and logo of this event, but nothing else than that it took place for the first time in 1968 :)
Whoever knows more about the history of this event may comment in the comments or talk during the walk.
We're going to start at the official starting point at the "Cultural complex Al Seeërei“ close
to the train station.
There will be no trains this weekend, and there are not many replacement buses that go directly from somewhere. One of them is L10 from Limpertsberg, going directly, but stopping "everywhere".
If you don't mind arriving early and sneaking around a bit, I recommend arriving a bit earlier and not at the last moment, to avoid losing time finding your group.
**Meeting Point:**
We will meet at the Centre Culturel "Al Seeërei“.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/JMt9BcxYmFcxZQ4B7
Individual and more detailed meeting points may be announced by the leaders in the last moment

If you only come for the walk, don't want to enjoy the party or the band line-up, you may of course also join without a ticket, but be ready to be frowned upon (not by me, of course)
**Public Transport:**
* Bus L10, departure 9:10, 10:10, from Limpertsberg, bus stop "Batiment P. Eyschen" (goes until Diekirch but stops everywhere). This is around the corner from the "Theatre" bus stop, please check out the Google Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/btiZ6Wwp3yZ2Z45S9
* Bus L11, departure every 30 minutes from "Gare Rocade", stops only in Mersch, but ends in Ettelbrück. You need to take another bus to Diekirch, which might go more often, possibly an additional "Navette"
* There are multiple other combinations of buses to Diekirch, from Kirchberg and change in Echternach, or from Badanstalt and change in Junglinster
There is no "perfect timing" this time, like "we go right after the bus arrives" (and after Beatrice finally shows up).
Anticipate some waiting time due to early arrival rather than waiting for someone.
**Car Pool:**
If you come by car, you might offer a seat to a friendly co-hiker.
According to the expected parking "situation", please plan your arrival at least 30 minutes before the intended start
https://groupcarpool.com/t/qwaf3t
Passengers, please get into the cars of your favorite driver or place of departure, or on the waiting list if there's no free seat at the moment.
Don't forget to remove yourself from the waiting list when you find a seat in a car!
Disclaimer:
The hike is at your own risk, and please make sure to wear proper shoes and bring some water for yourself!
Looking forward to hiking with you!
Jens.

Bad Girls Book Club June 2026
**Our June novel is: *The Eights* by Joanna Miller**
**This month’s novel is set during World War I. It’s a 20th-century historical fiction story about friendship and war, with coming-of-age elements and a slightly haunted tone. The book is 384 pages in print and 10 hours and 9 minutes on audiobook.**
Oxford, 1920. For the first time in its one-thousand-year history, Oxford University officially admits female students. Burning with dreams of equality, four young women move into neighboring rooms in Corridor 8. Beatrice, Dora, Marianne, and Otto—collectively known as The Eights—come from all walks of life, each driven by their own motives, each holding tight to their secrets, and are thrown into an unlikely, unshakable friendship.
Dora was never meant to go to university, but, after losing both her brother and her fiancé on the battlefield, has arrived in their place. Politically-minded Beatrice, daughter of a famous suffragette, sees Oxford as a chance to make her own way - and some friends her own age. Otto was a nurse during the war but is excited to return to her socialite lifestyle in Oxford where she hopes to find distraction from the memories that haunt her. And finally Marianne, the quiet, clever daughter of a village pastor, who has a shocking secret she must hide from everyone, even her new friends, if she is to succeed.
Among the historic spires, and in the long shadow of the Great War, the four women must navigate and support one another in a turbulent world in which misogyny is rife, influenza is still a threat, and the ghosts of the Great War don’t always remain dead.

Book summary:
On a hot day in Bethlehem, a twelve-year-old Palestinian-American girl is yelled at by a group of men outside the Church of the Nativity. She has exposed her legs in a biblical city, an act they deem forbidden, and their judgement will echo on through her adolescence. When our narrator finally admits to her mother that she is queer, her mother's response only intensifies a sense of shame: 'You exist too much,' she tells her daughter. Told in vignettes that flash between the U.S. and the Middle East--from New York to Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine--Zaina Arafat's debut novel traces her protagonist's progress from blushing teen to sought-after DJ and aspiring writer.
Feel Good Friday: POWER BALLAD at the Gateway Film Center + SHAKE NO. 8!

DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. Power Ballad is written/directed by John Carney, the master of the modern musical and creative mind behind Once, Begin Again and Sing Street! It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor.
BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving." The film continues John Carney’s “long run of success with yet another charmer” and “a sharp, hopeful crowd-pleaser that strikes the right notes!”
