TOG Watch Night: The Secret Life of Components (Tim Hunkin) We’re kicking off a new bi-weekly Monday Watch Night at TOG. We’ll watch an episode of Tim Hunkin’s “The Secret Life of Components” together, then have a relaxed Q&A and discussion afterwards. This is a friendly, low-pressure way to learn the kind of practical tips you normally only pick up through years of making, fixing, and building. Perfect for beginners, makers, repair folks, and engineers who enjoy the practical side of components and mechanisms. Join us on **Easter Monday, 6 April**, for a **Parks on the Air (POTA)** outing from **Ticknock** in the Dublin Mountains. If you have not come across POTA before, it is all about bringing amateur radio into the great outdoors, setting up in a qualifying park, and making contacts from the field. We did a quieter test run on Bull Island recently and it went well, so this time we are opening it up to the wider **TOG community and the public**. We will meet at **10:30am** at the **Ticknock café** and then head off to find a good place to set up and operate. We expect to be on air for around **two hours**. You are very welcome to come along, help out, and even have a go on the radio using the **club callsign EI0TOG**. Jeffrey Roe, **EI7IRB**, will be leading the activation. Jeffrey is planning to cycle out, but there is parking nearby too. If radio is not really your thing, or you do not want to stay for the whole activation, Ticknock has plenty of walks so you can still join us for part of the outing. After the POTA activation, there are also IRTS 2m and 70cm contests running, so anyone who wants to keep the radio fun going is welcome to do that too. As always, this one is weather dependent. If the conditions are awful, we will give it a miss rather than spend another Monday getting soaked. If you have an interest in spiritual topics like Dreams, Past Lives, or Soul Travel, then join other like-hearted Souls in conversation and some exercise as we take a spiritual walk around St. Anne’s Park in Clontarf, Dublin. **Location** St. Anne’s Park contains some original features, including a walled garden, the grand avenue and a number of follies. In the last few decades, a rose garden, walking trails and the Millennium Arboretum have been added, which contain over 1000 varied trees. **Meeting Time** We’ll meet at 12:00 pm close to the entrance gate to the Red Stables, and go for a stroll from there. The weather will probably determine our route, but we are open to all suggestions. **How to get there / Transport** If you’re using public transport, the best bus to get is the 130 from Talbot Street, Dublin 1, to Park Lawn, and you’ll have a 5-minute walk to St. Anne’s Park, close to the Red Stables. **Below are the routes which pass close to St. Anne’s Park.** 130, Talbot Street, to Mount Prospect Avenue. If you’re driving, there are a number of car parks in St Anne’s and some on-street parking nearby. **Our Walk** While walking, we will try to be present in the moment, be mindful of our thoughts, observe what is presented to us and what comes into our awareness. We'd love to hear your stories and any spiritual insights you’d like to share. We’re also happy to answer any spiritual questions you may have, offering Eckankar’s view of life and spirituality. **Food** You can bring some food for a picnic, and for sharing if you like. There is a nice cafe, Olive’s Room, at the Red Stables, but keep in mind, this closes at 5:00 pm. You’re welcome to join us for as long as you wish to suit your own schedule. We’ll probably aim to return to the Red Stables around 3:00 pm. **All are welcome!**

Join me for a swim on Monday 6th April at 1pm, Weather pending. All are welcome - newcomers and established members, swimmers, paddlers, and toe dippers. I recommend that you don't stay in too long, like me, this time of year, and stay within your dept. We look out for each other but we are not lifeguards. We try and go to a different bar every week and you can join us anytime after 18:30. **How to find the group?** \*We have an area reserved just for us so if you are new and unsure please ask any of the bar staff for the area reserved under the organisers name or if completely lost on the night please contact the event host and they'll come and find you. **How does it work?** \*After finding the group either the organiser will approach you and ask if you are looking for the meetup or you can just ask anyone "Is this the meetup?" and normally that is a great conversation opener to join the group. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map.
