Realizamos Taichi al aire libre aún asi solicitamos que debido al CoViD cada participante decida libremente y se responsabilice de las medidas que desee tomar respecto a la situación sanitaria actual El Taichi es una arte marcial basado en la filosofía taoísta y en su visión del universo, que además de fomentar habilidades marciales, ayuda a mejorar la salud, la conciencia corporal y puede ser un camino para el desarrollo personal y espiritual de los que lo practican. Este arte marcial es diferente a la mayoría de las que podáis conocer. Mientras otras se basan en la fuerza y la potencia el Taichí es una respuesta a la pregunta: ¿Por qué combatir la fuerza bruta con más fuerza cuando es posible aprovechar la de tu adversario? Si estas pinceladas os llaman la atención podéis venir a conocer el Taichi de forma gratuita, cada domingo de manos del Sifu Albert Sala. Las clases son de 9 a 10:30 de la mañana en el parque situado al final del Carrer Lleida delante del recinto llamado “El mercat de les flors” (cerca de las paradas de metro “Plaça Espanya” y “Poble Sec”). Somos razonables en la práctica del Taichi y os ayudaremos a no realizar prácticas que puedan provocaros un daño pero en última instancia cada participante es responsable de si mismo y os pedimos que nos comuniquéis problemas de salud o lesiones que pudiesen causaros perjuicio alguno. Además os repetimos que debéis velar de forma adulta y consciente de vuestro bienestar y por tanto os hacemos responsables en ultima instancia del mismo. Taichi is a martial art based in the Taoist philosophy and its vision of the universe, in addition to the improvement of the martial skills of its practitioners, helps to enhance their health, their body awareness, and also can be a path for their personal and spiritual growth. This martial art is set apart from the majority of the other ones you may know. Other martial arts are based in strength and muscle power, but Taichi is instead an answer to the question: ¿Why fight strength with strength when you could use their power against them? If these bits have caught your attention you can come to know Taichi for free, all Sundays taught by Sifu Albert Sala. The lessons start at 9:00 am and run throught 10:30 am in the parc that is at Lleida Street (Carrer Lleida) in front of the building called “El mercat de les flors” (It’s near de subway stations of Plaça Espanya and Poble Sec). We encorage a rational training of Taichi and will help you to prevent posible injuries in its practice. But you have to be conscius and responsable of yourself so we ask of you to comunicate with us any posible health problems or injuries that may be bring harm to you during training. Hi ladies. We will meet in front of the Nature Center and head to the two Observation decks. We will then hike Hickory Ridge, Ripple Rock, Overlook and Sugarbush trails to get approximately four miles total distance. We will walk approximately a 18 minute mile pace. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes.

**How does a TennisColumbus Season / League run?** The league advertises the season dates and builds a queue of committed players for the season. **Kickoff Day - June 10th** The start day of the season, players are sent a kickoff email that contains important information about the league, the link where your league standings and players contact information. We guarantee 6 playing partners at your playing level, but have been averaging closer to 15+ partners in most cities. The number of different levels we run is solely based upon the number of players enrolled for the league kickoff. Typically we are running a Skilled-3.0, Competitive-3.5 and Advanced-4.0 in most cities. **Your Task - "Flexible Scheduling"** After this kickoff email is sent, it is the **player's task to communicate with other players**. Players should work with their partners to find an agreeable time and location to play the match. While TennisColumbus doesn't mandate your playing schedule, it is recommended that players schedule at least one match per week. By request of the players, we started to allow players to play 1 rematch per season. The regular season is all about playing as much as you can. As of Feb. 10, 2026 we've had an amazing 2,017 players play more than [20 matches in a season](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/info/MatchesInSeason). **Where to Play?** Play at your local free tennis courts, tennis parks, condo courts or tennis clubs. The league strongly suggests that players jointly try to pick a tennis court location convenient to both. We provide an extensive list of [tennis courts](https://www.tenniscolumbus.com/TennisCourts), including # of courts, lighting, hitting walls, etc. We strive to keep this list up-to-date. TennisColumbus sets up a must play dates to push players out on the courts. The final deadline is the date marking the end of the season, at which point players with 3-5 wins (Actually total is specified on the division page) will qualify for a post-season playoff to determine the league champion. **How to Play?** Players can use three mostly standard playing formats: 2 out of 3 sets, 2 sets with 10 point super tie-breaker or the 10-game pro set (First to 10, used when court time is limited). On Feb. 2018, we added Fast Tennis 4 game pro set format as a valid format. **Playoffs** Each season concludes with a playoffs where players with anywhere from 3 to 5 season wins qualifies for a single elimination tourney. Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 11 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled!
