Monthly Music Club meets in the Central Library on the 3rd Monday of every month. showcasing curated music documentaries from all genres and different decades. Whether you're a seasoned performer or stepping out of your bedroom with your first song, this is a space to play, listen, and connect. **New to performing?**



We want to create space that is especially welcoming to first-time performers. If you're new to sharing music, know that this is a no-pressure, supportive space where beginners are encouraged and we value having fun over perfection! **How it works:** * It’s unplugged and intimate. We go around in a song circle - each person gets a turn to play one song per round. You’re welcome to sit out a round if you prefer. * Singers welcome - no instrument needed. Go acappella or ask for accompaniment. * Covers, originals, instrumentals - all styles welcome. **A few practical notes:** * RSVP is essential in order to perform. * Plus one’s are welcome RSVP only required for musicians. * Can’t make it? A lovely session of music and song in a relaxed and supportive environment. All levels of musician and singer welcome. You can come and sing or play one song or just come and listen to the other members. Great way to build up your playing skills and build up your confidence. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
