Qigong Cultivation for Anti-aging & Longevity (Cross posting)
Qigong Cultivation for Anti-aging & Longevity (Cross posting)
What is Qigong? Qi (aka chi or ki) is often translated as "energy" or "breath" and Gong (aka gung or do) as "skillful work." Qigong can be said to be work that we do to become skillful in cultivating life force energy. This energy is not imaginary, but rather the fundamental bio-magnetic energy that flows through all of nature including each cell of our bodies. This energy can be come blocked, inefficient, out of balance, excessive or deficient. Through mindful movement, breath and visualizations we can begin to restore this energy to a more fluid, or if you will, "youthful" state and begin to cultivate this life force energy. The top medical schools in the country have been doing extensive research into the benefits of Qigong and Tai Chi. Harvard in particular, puts out articles nearly every month about the health benefits of Tai Chi: https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/the-health-benefits-of-tai-chi This is an ongoing class with the exercises cycling through and harmonizing with the 5 seasons of the Taoist energy calendar, so newcomers and beginners may join at anytime. We are currently working on Wood/Spring protocols Classes are online through Zoom while we are under orders to stay home. Classes are $17 drop in. Please RSVP. 8 class sessions $120 I can invoice through Square or I accept payment via Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle. This is an ongoing class with some attendees who are not be members of meetup.

Friday Emotional Health Uplift & Accountability Group
Friday Emotional Health Uplift & Accountability Group
Dear friends, This one hour session is functioning as an online support group and is offered to you for sharing and connecting with a few individuals who might need a little bit of a kick to keep themselves on track with their mental health work and wellbeing during the week. Through the first part of the year I invite anyone of you who is grieving, be it a loss of a loved one, a separation, job, relocation, etc... to join in and let us hear you. We are not about moving forward with our business projects, but rather moving forward our plans to feel better, to connect with meaningful activities and people in order to live a healthier and more fulfilled life. If you are currently unable to find a local support group nearby where you live, join us without thinking twice. No pressure will be put on you to talk, but everyone will have an equal chance to share their own story and how they are dealing with their everyday challenges. We shall let the session evolve naturally. This session is limited to maximum 5 participants. Please be respectful, nonjudgemental, willing to share, willing to listen, and simply be present with us. We will explore moments of mindfulness, and learn/practice useful life skills that might support you on your way to better awareness of self and your impact on the world around you. \*Everyone who joins respects confidentiality. What is said in the group is not shared outside the group. The session will be concluded with a very short mindfulness meditation exercise- if you are not used to meditate, don't get intimidated - you will be guided into it. And if not interested, you will be able to disconnect from the session without any further questions. I look forward to seeing you there. I am a Mental Health Counselor MA. My reasons for organizing this session are to provide one way of support to anyone who needs to step out of isolation, connect with others who struggle with their own life situation at the moment, and who cannot afford a price/commute for the local individual or group counseling sessions at this moment in time. There is still space you. Heartfelt voluntary contributions will be accepted with great appreciation, and can be processed via Twint (at 078 8062540) or PayPal. Thank you.

Perth Weight Loss Support Group - Saturday Morning Meetings
Perth Weight Loss Support Group - Saturday Morning Meetings
Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am People who attend support groups lose more weight than those who go it alone. You don’t have to lose weight all by yourself - in fact it’s probably best that you don’t. Research shows that having support on your weight loss journey enhances self-esteem and provides motivation to keep going. A study published recently in the American Journal of Medicine found that participants who attended weekly support meetings, lost on average, five times more weight than those who relied solely on the information and advice that they were given. So, if you’ve tried losing weight on your own with little or no success, it might be time to join a supportive group of like-minded people who are on the same journey. The Perth Healthy Weight Support Group meets every Saturday morning from 10 am to 11 am. Cost: $20 per meeting Purchase Tickets Here (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/perth-weight-loss-support-group-tickets-31772770211) First time visitors can attend for free. Recovering The Way: A fusion of Qigong, Western Medicinal Theory and 12-Step
Recovering The Way: A fusion of Qigong, Western Medicinal Theory and 12-Step
I'm Dan Weicher, developer of Recovering the Way, which is a fusion of qigong, the Scientific Method and 12-step. Some time after coming into a 12 step program I met with Dr. Roger Jahnke OMD of The Institute Of Integral Qigong, It started a long and deep learning experience of integrating the principles of Internal Alchemy into my life. I realized pretty soon that the 12-step paradigm was also one of Alchemy, and the two of them worked well together. You might be saying, “That’s really nice for you, Dan, but I'm not interested in meditation", or "That’s really nice for you, Dan, I don't need a program for addiction" Bu there's a new pathology in the world now now that tis coming directly at us. And I don’t just mean the pandemic of the COVID virus. I'm talking about, if you a virus of freneticism that has overtaken us like a tsunami. We all have addictive tendencies, and just like gene expression, certain environmental phenomena can bring to surface the dis-ease. And it’s nearly impossible for us to avoid the effects of the new world of electronic phenomena and it is laying bare the compulsive, addictive parts of our personalities. Where people may not have considered themselves dependent, it’s being laid bare now for us. So, why this fusion? Just as Chinese medicine is a paradigm for healing and Western medicine is a paradigm for healing, the 12-Step process is a paradigm for healing. The fusion of the paradigms is how I healed and it can work for you too. I've seen in recovery circles that there are many people who have come to grips with a lot of their pressing issues but they're still very rife and tense, as if the body won't stop being in a state of excitation. I've also seen many people come into yoga or meditation class expecting for the addictive or compulsive part of their personality to abate and subside. It doesn’t necessarily always work. Recovering The Way is advantageous for those people who might be looking to see how they can integrate themselves better into today’s life. The practice is in the format of a Qigong Class, incorporating parts of the Tai Chi Easy program and Integral Qigong. No experience is necessary, it is pleasing, almost effortless and can be done seated, standing or just listening. Seasoned practitioners and novices each find it beneficial. We have amongst us Physicians, Scientists, Doctors of Oriental Medicine, Teachers and people from all walks of life and all ages. It is easy seamless and graspable to just about anybody. We bring into the body aspects of mind that allude us and visa versa. By integrating simplified Qigong (gentle movement, breath regulation, meditation and self massage), with simplified Recovery principles (self awareness of conduct and thought) we attain a level of internal harmony that may surprise us. This is all done under the backdrop a simple understanding of the most modern aspects of human physiology. In lay terms we are given valuable information on how the brain, the blood and or bodies interact. Daniel Weicher Founder Recovering The Way Qigong A fusion of Healing Paradigms
