**IMPORTANT:** Due to construction at our previous meeting location which closed down the parking lot we've temporarily moved the starting location to **Brushy Creek Lake Park**. The relevant information has been updated to reflect this. Join us for our **recurring** scenic **6.6-mile (10.6-km)** evening at the Brushy Creek Regional Trail in Cedar Park! We’ll take a relaxed pace through one of the city’s most beautiful trails. The hike should take about **2 hours**. **ℹ️ Additional info** The purpose of this specific event is to have a recurring way for us to meet relatively easily. I want to make sure that recurring events are a "low effort" commitment, ie you don't have to drive 2 hours to get there. In the future once we have more organizers I plan to have more recurring events scheduled so we can cover a larger area. Also, you may have noticed that **this event has an RSVP limit**. This is done for multiple reasons. **San Gabriel River from Blue Hole Hike & Georgetown Red Poppy Festival** This was a fun event last year - let's do it again! We'll hike about a 5-mile portion of the San Gabriel River Trail. We will meet at 9am on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at the Blue Hole Park trailhead. (Reference: [https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/texas/san-gabriel-trail](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/texas/san-gabriel-trail)) The Blue Hole Park trailhead is at the corner of Rock Street & 2nd Street in downtown Georgetown, next to the Encantada Cocina-Cantina (formerly El Monumento). The [Red Poppy Festival](https://visit.georgetown.org/events/red_poppy_festival/index.php) is a fantastic event. After the hike, we can have lunch at Encantada or a food vendor at the festival, then enjoy booths and live music throughout the rest of the day. Also, I have been doing a lot of travel in 2026 and that will continue for a while. I'm looking for one or two more co-organizers who want to schedule local Austin-area hikes for this group, and I'll plan only a few out-of-state hikes this year. Let's hike Brushy Creek Park Trail and walk for 1.75 hours for a total of 4.5 miles. This trail is paved so you don't need any hiking boots, but be sure to bring two or more liters of water and a flashlight. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the trail. Let's go hike River Place Nature, but start at an entrance that is not used as much. We will hike about 2.5 miles and will take about 1 hours. This trail has a lot of steps and is one of the hardest hikes in Austin. It is not appropriate for beginners or people who want an easy hike. This follows a creek so it has some pretty nice scenery. I recommend bringing at least two liters of water, wearing hiking boots, wide brimmed hat, and sunscreen. Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved. Come out for a casual evening bike ride along Brushy Creek Trail East. We roll at 6:05pm and plan to ride for about an hour. Distance is flexible depending on the group's pace. The trail is fully paved, so any type of bike works. Road bike, mountain bike, hybrid, whatever you've got. All skill levels welcome. Bring water and lights just in case we're out past sunset.

Hi ladies. We will meet in front of the Nature Center and head to the two Observation decks. We will then hike Hickory Ridge, Ripple Rock, Overlook and Sugarbush trails to get approximately four miles total distance. We will walk approximately a 18 minute mile pace. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes.

We will hike the Ridge Trail and Meadows Trail twice, for a total of 3.8 miles. There are some pretty good inclines so plan on getting a cardio workout :). This is a loop which is pretty easy to follow; thus faster walkers can take the lead and the rest (like me) will bring up the rear at a slightly slower pace. You could also just do the loop once for 1.9 miles. No one left behind. Optional lunch to follow in Canal Winchester. I'm working through the metro parks - this is the third one!

We'll hike 3.4 miles on the Killdeer and Yellowlegs Trails - both out and back gravel trails. If we want more mileage we can repeat an out and back. Pace of around 3.5 mph, no one left behind and those who want to go faster sure can! As always optional lunch after. This is the second Metro Park in the lineup for me - with 21 to go (plus more are being added).

**Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop.
