Do please feel very welcome to attend our upcoming meeting where, besides a speech, we've got a TT planned that you would *hate* to miss. No really, you'd absolutely *HATE* to not participate in this one. But I can't say anymore without spoiling it 😜, except that we'd *love* to have you join us and wish you the *LOVE*liest of times. Toastmasters Club Sarajevo at 18:30 CEST, 26 May, at Društveni centar Općine Centar, Muhameda Kantardžića 3. Zoom is also totally an option - just message us for the link.

Sketchy Collective: First Sarajevo Drawing Meetup
Sketchy Collective: First Sarajevo Drawing Meetup
JOINING THE EVENT Please join the event through the Sketchy Collective international group. The Sarajevo sub-group is temporary and was created to make our group more visible to people in Sarajevo. You can find the link to the same event in the international group here: https://www.meetup.com/sketchy-collective-international/events/314735747/?eventOrigin=group_events_list HOW TO FIND US We’re meeting in the park around Liberation Square (Trg oslobođenja) on Thursday, 28.05, at 18:00 (no problem if you’re slightly late). Just look for the people with sketchbooks :) You can also follow us on Instagram - we’ll post some stories just before the meetup starts to help you locate us more easily in the park. \*\*\* HOW IT WORKS At each meetup, attendees take turns modeling for quick 10-minute sketch sessions. One person poses while everyone else sketches, then we rotate. \*\*\* WHAT TO BRING Pencils and paper (or any sketching tools you prefer). \*\*\* No fees, no pressure. The only thing we ask is that everyone takes a turn posing for the group. You can sit in whatever position feels comfortable - the 10 minutes go by quickly! Draw as much as you like, skip a round if you’re tired or just want to chat, and leave whenever it suits you. The event continues as long as there’s interest. \*\*\* STAYING CONNECTED We have a WhatsApp group for staying in touch and sharing updates. Ask the organizer to add you to the WhatsApp group during the meetup.

C++ for Combinatorial Optimization: From Exact Solvers to Metaheuristics
C++ for Combinatorial Optimization: From Exact Solvers to Metaheuristics
Combinatorial optimization problems arise across logistics, scheduling, and engineering, and C++ remains a language of choice when performance matters. This lecture takes a practical look at solving such problems in C++, using the Electric Vehicle Routing Problem as a running example. We begin with an exact solver, formulating the problem as a mixed-integer program and trying to solve it through GLPK's C API directly from C++. Exact methods, however, quickly hit their limits on real-world instances. The second half of the talk turns to metaheuristics: how they are designed, why C++ is particularly well suited for implementing them, and what design choices matter most in practice. We'll walk through a concrete implementation, touching on data structures for fast neighborhood evaluation, generic algorithm design with templates, and the performance considerations that separate a prototype from a production-ready solver. The goal is not to advocate for one approach over another, but to show how C++ supports the full spectrum of optimization techniques. # About Speaker Luka Matijević is a researcher at the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, whose work bridges academic research and freelance engineering. He's drawn to identifying the right algorithm for a given problem — and to the kind of careful optimization captured by one of his favourite Futurama lines: *"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all."* ## 📅 Event Details | | | | --- | --- | | 👤 **Speaker** | **[Luka Matijević](https://www.linkedin.com/in/luka-matijevic/)** | | 🕕 **Date & Time** | **27th of May (Wednesday), 6 pm** | | 📍 **Location** | **Beograđanka, Vidikovac, 22nd floor** | | 🏢 **Address** | **Masarikova 5** | | 💻 **Online** | **[C++ Serbia YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/@cppserbia)** | See you!

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
Three Creeks Metro Park
Three Creeks Metro Park
We'll get in around 4 miles at Three Creeks Metro Parks, primarily natural trails. 17-18 minute miles, no one left behind, and faster walkers are free to lead out. Optional lunch after! If you're joining for hiking all the metro parks, this is the sixth one!
