UX Vienna Meetup at Dynatrace: Crafting Accessible User Experiences (on Monday!)

Dynatrace Austria GmbH - Lab Vienna

Important information: This time the evening meetup will be on a Monday - June 12th - at 6pm.

Night Shift at Dynatrace: Crafting Accessible User Experiences

We’re diving headfirst into the world of accessibility and design systems at Dynatrace. In this casual chat, we’ll discuss what accessibility is, why it matters to everyone (including you), and how it can boost your business. Plus, we’ll give you some handy tools to get you started. Then we’ll show you how we’re doing things here at Dynatrace, followed by a deep-dive into our design system. It’s all about creating a seamless, efficient, and super user-friendly experience.

Part 1: “Accessibility 101: What’s the Big Deal?” by Paulo Ferreira
We’ll start by breaking down what accessibility means and why it’s a big deal for users, designers, engineers, and businesses. We’ll also share some neat tools you can use to make your work more accessible.

Part 2: “Meet Strato: More Than Just Pretty Pictures” by Andreas Haslinger
We’ll wrap things up with a behind-the-scenes tour of our design system. We’ll talk about the nuts and bolts - components, design tokens, and accessibility criteria - and give you a peek into our team and how we decide what to tackle next. Plus, we’ll share our guiding principles and goals for the future. It’s all about balancing flexibility with consistency and speed with thoroughness.

How to Speak Machine @UX Vienna Book Club

Die Schankwirtschaft im Augarten

Blink and you haven't missed it - AI is here to stay, and more and (exponentially) more of it at that. John Maeda wrote one of the most essential books on the topic: "How to Speak Machine: Computational Thinking for the Rest of Us".

At the next UX Book Club, we'll speak about how to speak to and through the machines, and how AI impacts our lives as product people in general.

If you don't have time to read the book, we highly recommend watching John Maeda's latest Design in Tech report (the abridged version is only 26 Minutes long).

See you there!

PLEASE NOTE: This time, we will meet in Vienna, irl, and not online.

How the book club works:

  • 👋 We start with a round of introductions
  • 🎤 We discuss some of the main topics from the book
  • 👉 Don't worry if you didn't get around to reading it - we make sure everyone can join in!
  • 🗳 We start voting for the November book
