Berlin School of Drawing ( born as Berlin Drawing ) has been founded in 2012.
Since than, we are regularly offering weekly classes and weekend workshops taught by trained artists. Following our classes, students will practice and learn through a strong program based mainly on an academic approach. Classes cover basics and advanced knowledge on drawing, panting, life drawing, illustration, sculpture, printing and more.
We also have regular untutored life drawing sessions, a now established event and a reference for sketchers in the area and from other parts of town. The session is an opportunity to draw and meet other sketchers, with experienced models posing for 2 hours in a beautiful location. Poses can go normally from 2 to 20/30 minutes or up to one hour on the long poses evening.
Lessons are conducted in English ( we speak also German ).

We will start with some ground knowledge on color properties, then we'll work from references from art history. As last step, we will finilize one or more portrait from pics of people.
We will use colored pencils on toned or white paper.Some experience in drawing will help to enjoy the workshop better - but is open to everyone!

The class will focus on the fundamentals of drawing such as shapes and volumes, shading and perspective.
We will learn how to look at things, to understand proportions, volume, texture and presence of an object in the space.
We'll also go through shading and values, which will allow us to get a 3dimensional effect in our drawings.

You will have the opportunity to experiment and play with materials and paint your own artwork. You will leave the course equipped with the skills and knowledge to continue your watercolour painting journey.
WEEK I. Intro to watercolour. Materials, techniques and colour theory. Prepping surface and stretching paper.
WEEK II. Create a watercolour painting from a photo or life and put into practice what we have learnt.

KREUZBERGIn this 4 week course you will be introduced to the wonderful world of acrylic paint! This is not a `follow along` class, but an in-depth dive into underdstanding the medium of acrylic and being able to use it to paint whatever you want. We cover knowledge of acrylics and materials, techniques, colour theory, and of course practical painting.
WEEK I: Introduction to acrylic paint, what it is and how to use it. Exploring mediums and painting techniques. Paint a gradient. Brush control.
WEEK II: Colour theory. Paint a colour wheel. Develop a palette.
WEEK III: Composition, perspective. How to begin a painting. Paint a still life.
WEEK IV: Resolving an artwork. Display and critique.
