🎬 MAKE YOUR MOV(I)E Kick-Off Event

You’ve been meaning to make a film… but somehow it never happens.

The Movie Nerds Filmmaking Challenge is here to change that.

Over the next 8 weeks, we challenge you and ourselves to write, shoot, and finish a short film.

At this kick-off event we will:

• reveal the official challenge prompt
• explain the rules and timeline
• share tips on how to make a film within the challenge timeframe
• creative sessions to get you into gear
• help you find collaborators if you want to work in a team

You can join as a director, writer, actor, cinematographer, editor, or just someone curious about filmmaking. Beginners and experienced filmmakers are welcome.

Challenge timeline
Kick-off event — 15 March
Film deadline — 8 May
Community screening — 10 May

Films should be 2–12 minutes long and must be filmed during the challenge period.

At the final screening we celebrate all films together and give out an audience award and jury award.
