3 June: Intro to Traditional Storytelling
17 June: Find Your Storytelling Voice
Embark on a magical adventure with Storytellers Melissa Min and Nicola-Jane le Breton, as they guide you into the world of our ancestors' collective imagination, brimming with symbolism and timeless wisdom. This immersive two-part series invites you to explore several traditional tales, harness the power of image and metaphor, share meaningful conversation, and learn basic storytelling and story-remembering techniques. Nicola and Melissa will also share insights, resources, and ideas for those who might like to continue with a local Story Weavers' Circle.
"After nourishment, shelter, and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world." - Philip Pullman
About Traditional Storytelling
Traditional storytellers believe mythical tales, legends, folk and fairy tales have a remarkable relevance to our current times. Their themes and messages resonate with wisdom, meaning, insight and humour. When we hear an ancient story, it often stirs a deep sense of familiarity or homecoming in the listener.
