In the cloud, every second counts. Sysdig stops cloud attacks in real time by instantly detecting changes in risk with runtime insights and open source Falco. We correlate signals across workloads, identities, and services to uncover hidden attack paths and prioritize the risks that matter most.

Evolution of Grafana Alerting (Josh Abreu, Grafana)
From its humble origins as a dashboard feature to its growth into a full-fledged alerting system, Grafana Alerting is still evolving, with plans to make it the most stable, scalable, and simple detection system out there. In this session, Josh will walk you through a history lesson of Grafana Alerting and end with a demo of the most notable changes for Alerting in Garfana 11.Josue (Josh) Abreu has been involved in observability for the past 5 years. As a relative newcomer to this world, he was often puzzled at how alerting would function on a small and big scale. Josue works as a Principal Engineering and Alerting Lead at Grafana Labs and is a Prometheus Maintainer. Over a 10-year career in software development, he’s been involved on the whole spectrum. From founding and successfully exiting a company to working on digital payment systems that move millions a day. Find him on Twitter: @gotjosh
When They Go High, We Go Low – Hooking Libc Calls to Debug Kubernetes Apps (Tal Zwick, MetalBear)
This talk from KubeCon Europe 2024 is now (virtually) coming to London! Many tools exist for debugging cloud-native applications, and they mostly take one of two approaches: they either continuously sync local files to the remote container, or they connect the local machine to the cluster. mirrord takes a novel approach: when developers run their code with mirrord, it injects a dynamic library into the process, hooks libc calls, and relays some operations to be executed on the cluster instead of locally. That way, developers can run their code locally and debug it with a debugger. With all of the code's input and output forwarded to and from the cluster, the local process “thinks” it’s running in the cluster and can be tested and debugged in cloud conditions. This talk will discuss the rationale behind using low-level techniques in cloud-native tooling, explain some of the low level Rust code that makes it possible, and show mirrord in action with a live demo.Tal started his way in the tech world with military service in a cyber security related unit, and then studied computer science at the Technical University of Munich. He now works at MetalBear, where he writes low-level, open-source Rust code for mirrord.
Make developers fly: Principles for platform engineering (Alexander Eimer, QAware GmbH)
How do we help our developers to fly instead of crashing miserably? The answer is Platform Engineering, a discipline for building internal developer platforms (IDPs) to simplify software delivery for product teams. In this talk, you'll learn how Platform Engineering evolved from the DevOps movement and what principles and best practices make for a good implementation. After that, we'll take a look at reference architectures that can support your platform. Beside that, we will discuss the usage of AI platforms and how it helps to accelerate LLMs and RAG company-wide.Find Alex at https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexander-eimer/ or https://eimer.it
