Kubernetes is an open source orchestration system for Docker containers. It handles scheduling onto nodes in a compute cluster and actively manages workloads to ensure that their state matches the users declared intentions. Using the concepts of "labels" and "pods", it groups the containers which make up an application into logical units for easy management and discovery.

Talk 1: Docker Compose to kubernetes using kube-compose
Presenters: Michael Fornaro from ANZ and Jasper Brekelmans from Innablr
Kube-compose is an open-source project written entirely in Golang which aims to give docker-compose functionality on any kubernetes cluster, allowing CI to your multi-container ecosystem whilst leveraging kubernetes resources and APIs.
Talk 2: Learning about CI / CD in the kubernetes ecosystem
Presenters: Ben Ebsworth from DigIO
Explore latest trends in the Kubernetes ecosystem used to enable continuous delivery pipelines. Through a practical end-to-end demonstration we'll get to see how a number of different tools/technologies are used together to create fully-featured CI and CD workflows, as well as the local developer experience which helps make kubernetes more accessible. Some technologies used include: Tekton, Kaniko, Skaffold, Istio, Knative, Kustomize and more.
