About us
ProductTank provides an opportunity for Product Managers in Perth to exchange ideas and experiences about Product Design, Development and Management, Business Modelling, Metrics, User Experience and all the other things that get us excited.
Events include talks from guest speakers on topics around product management, networking opportunities, and a good old-fashioned chin-wag over a beer or two.
We're open to companies big and small. We also welcome early-stage technology businesses looking to learn how to get their ideas off the ground.
We also have a blog and encourage the community to get engaged by commenting on or writing new posts for http://www.mindtheproduct.com
Keep the discussion flowing outside of meetups. Find us on Slack (#area-perth is the local Perth channel): https://mindtheproduct.slack.com/

How I'm Actually Using AI: Lightning Talks ⚡
The Globe, Perth, AUHow I'm Actually Using AI: Lightning Talk Edition ⚡
ProductTank Perth is back — seven people, seven minutes each
Everyone's talking about AI. Almost nobody shows you what they actually do — or don't do — with it in practice. Come to connect and trade secrets on how Perth's product community is really thinking about AI. Without the guff. Not a panel. Not a vendor sales pitch. The real version is the interesting version — and we want you up there.
We're taking a community-led approach and looking for presenters from the room, because the whole point is that everyone walks away with something concrete: how people are practically adding value with AI tools.
These are seven-minute lightning talks, and you choose what to show — slides, your actual Claude workflow, a live demo, or just talk.
Kicking us off, two people who've been living in this stuff:- Brian Foody — Founder of VerticalAI — on orchestrating AI agents to build AI agents
- Carl Maiorana — Founder & Financial Adviser at 4C Wealth — on automations that give small business superpowers
…and more to come!
⚡ We want you up there
We've got three cracking speakers locked in — and the rest of the night is yours. We're after a few more from the community, plus one wild-card slot claimed live on the night.
Seven minutes. Slides optional. Authenticity mandatory.
A few things people might get up and share:
- Prompts, skills and workflows that deliver real value — and exactly how
- How you got a vibe-coded prototype that rose above the slop
- Something you automated, and whether it was actually worth it
We're just as keen to hear what hasn't worked and what you learned — as long as you show how you got there, so the room can learn from it too.
Your seven minutes, your call: click through slides, walk us through your actual AI workflow, demo something live, or just talk — no slides at all is completely fine.
Here's exactly what happens after you put your name down:
- A real person from the committee replies within two days. Always, even if it's a "tell me more."
- We lock in your seven minutes and tell you where you are in the running order.
- On the night we get you set up before doors — laptop plugged in and tested — so nothing catches you out.
And a couple of promises to make this an easy yes:
- Not sure your idea's worth it? Send it anyway — we'll help you find the angle. It almost always is.
- First time speaking? You won't be the only one. The timer means you can't overrun, and no one's going to put you on the spot — questions happen at the end, as a relaxed group.
Put your name down here: https://forms.gle/3ha8Fw1hRzetgVch9 — one line about your idea, two minutes, done.
Who's it for
Anyone who ships product, whatever's on your business card — product managers, designers, engineers, founders, ops, analysts. Whether you've got a proper AI setup or you've been meaning to sort one out for months, you'll get something out of it.How the night runs
- 5:30 — Doors. Grab a drink, say hello, and put your name down for a wild-card talk spot.
- 6:15 — Welcome, and the wild card gets claimed
- 6:25 — Talks and demos. Seven-minute timer's on, no mercy.
- 7:30 — Drinks and a proper chin-wag
