Location: Switchbox

We are thrilled to welcome **Joel Tosi** — co-author of Signals & Levers (ITRevolution, September 2026), Coaching for Learning, and Create Your Dojo — who helps organizations evolve through learning by blending systems thinking, agile, lean, and DevOps practices. He joins ProductTank Des Moines ahead of his Tech Fuse Des Moines keynote.

Special thanks to **F&G** for sponsoring the venue and for having a senior leader kick off and welcome the group.

**Overview:**
Software delivery is influenced by a myriad of factors - internal ability to execute, customer demands, and an every shifting market for starters. But software delivery is also full of illusions, making it more and more difficult to see what is actually happening!

In this session, we will look at 3 of the most common illusions - Illusion of Progress, Illusion of Predictability, and Illusion of Control. We will explore the signals that tell us we are under these illusions and, most importantly, how to break free.

Want to understand why all of those meetings aren't helping? What about all of that planning? How about why all that agile stuff you are doing (in your own special way) seems to make things slower? And how about that eternal debate around tech debt vs shipping features?

**Note:** Guests need to register 48 hours in advance of the meeting.

**Schedule:**
4:30 - 5:00 Kickoff, Welcome and Networking
5:00 - 6:00 Session

3 Illusions in Software Delivery with Joel Tosi

**Join ProductTank DC for an evening exploring the human side of Product Management with Ellen Loeshelle, Head of Software and UX at Vestaboard**

We often talk about product management in terms of products, processes, roadmaps, and metrics — but being an effective PM is just as much about navigating relationships, leading through change, and understanding the people behind the work.

In this talk, [Ellen Loeshelle](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ellen-loeshelle/) will share lessons from her own product leadership journey, including leading through an acquisition, managing and developing people in product, and navigating the ways that major life experiences can shape a career.

We’ll explore how relationships and personal experiences influence our ability to lead, collaborate, make decisions, and build sustainable careers in product. Whether you’re just starting out in product, exploring a career in PM, or are an experienced product leader, come hear real stories and practical lessons from Ellen’s journey.

**Speaker:**
Ellen Loeshelle recently joined Vestaboard as their first Head of Software Product and UX and is thrilled to work on a product that she loves in her own home. Prior to Vestaboard, she was a product leader at Qualtrics where she led the Market Research and Healthcare product portfolios. Ellen began her career at Clarabridge, a customer experience analytics company, transitioning from consulting into product management and eventually taking on product leadership. Following Qualtrics’ acquisition of Clarabridge, Ellen continued to grow her scope as a product leader. Her experience spans AI and data products, bringing emerging technologies into customer-facing products, and leading product organizations through significant change and growth. Ellen lives in Arlington with her husband Joel, Jackson (5.5) and Parker (3).

Lovathon: From Idea to Product Hackathon

Fuqua School of Business

For decades, product teams have translated a three-dimensional world into two-dimensional interfaces. We’ve gotten incredibly good at taps, clicks, menus, and scrolls—but what if the screen was never the destination?

**ProductTank Columbus welcomes Omari Hitson, VP Lead Product Designer: Emerging Technologies at JPMorgan Chase and President of the Ohio Chapter of the VR/AR Association, for a practical look at what changes when digital products move beyond the screen and into the world around us.**

Omari Hitson designs where emerging technology meets real-world product problems. He has experience designing and prototyping across the evolution from traditional mobile and desktop experiences to spatial computing—all within a regulated enterprise environment where new technology has to solve an actual problem, not simply generate excitement.

He also serves as Chapter President of the VR/AR Association of Ohio and hosts the OhioXR conferences, putting him at the center of Ohio’s growing XR community.

Come connect, learn, and swap stories with fellow product professionals.
