Boxing Day Easy Hike at Lake Wainamu- Bethells Beach- Big Sand Dunes & Swimming

Are you Free on Boxing Day - Friday 26th December....and keen on being outdoors together ? Keep Reading .

This Summer Series Event is quite a short Walk / Hike....about 6km there and back the same way...No big hills...mostly Flat Ground and Sand......so ideally suited for members who are looking forward to slower paced walking and socializing today on Boxing Day.. instead of going shopping..If you've got active kids or friends visiting Auckland...bring them along today too under your supervision.

I've been bringing people together here for many years and we always have lots of fun recreational outdoor activities.

Lake Wainamu.. .inland from the west coast beach called Bethells or Te Henga is still relatively unknown to many Aucklanders and visitors...With its hugely popular sand dunes...and the fresh water...there's plenty of reasons to be here today ..or Come another time with your friends and family..

Opportunities here on Boxing Day...for anyone interested in wanting some gentle exercise....and swimming or just sitting in the Fresh Water Lake here where public also gather.. which is what I do... ..Or jump off the short pier into the very deep fresh water. There's a ladder to bring you back up.

Roughly 3 hours guided loop walk here today... and an extra bonus long lunch....and stopping along the way to see these big sand dunes here ....optional climb up them and for the young at heart...an opportunity for tumbling or sliding down..while other watch under the cover of Pine Trees here too.

Bring along everything you need to keep yourself happy outdoors together and fed and hydrated. Carry everything in a small backpack . Towels and Togs for Swimming opportunities.

Getting There- No public transport to Bethells Beach...If you need a ride or have space for another Auckland Social Events Member. Please add your Mobile number and Area where you live and contact each other. I suggest you give your Driver at least $20 or something similar if you're carrying more passengers.

Meet and Greet is 10.30am at the end of Bethells Road gathering in front of the Bethells Caravan Cafe alongside the Carpark area. Toilets here too.

Bring along good strong walking shoes or something similar like Mountain Sandals.

No Dogs or Smokers here today please.
