A friendly 2.5-hour workshop hosted by Befriend (this event is in Darlington, in the hills of Perth).

Have you ever thought about sparking your own social gathering or group?

Maybe you’ve dreamed of hosting a casual BBQ for the neighbours... or perhaps you care deeply about climate action and want to bring like-minded folks together to create change. Whatever your passion, this workshop is designed to help you take the first (or next!) step toward bringing people together in a way that feels right for you.

For the past 12 years, Befriend has been supporting everyday people to start their own inclusive social groups around hobbies, interests, and ideas they care about. We’ve learnt a lot about what makes gatherings welcoming and meaningful, and we’d love to share what we know with you!

* Feel ready (or just curious!) to bring people together
* Have an idea to spark connection in your community
* Want to explore becoming a Host with the Befriend Social Network

* A conversation about what makes a social group inclusive and welcoming
* Ideas and inspiration for different kinds of gatherings you could start
* A few practical things to consider
* Friendly faces and good chats
* Information about Hosting with Befriend and the next steps in the process

* Yourself, just as you are
* Your fave pen and notebook if you want (some pens and paper provided)
* An open heart and an open mind
