Helmet Check & Decorating at Fall 2025 Cyclovia

When LSA's helmet provider sponsor dropped out, GABA and Banner Health each made a $750 donation to purchase 250 helmets (at a great price via El Tour De Tucson) for distribution to kids at the Fall Cyclovia on Sunday, October 26.

As a result, GABA is on the event's Cinco card! Many will drop by our booth to get their card stamped. Here's a chance to help the word out about GABA in the community and perhaps get some new members! Before or after your shift, go experience the 3-mile long block party that is Cyclovia (see neighborhood map on website).

Organizations on the Cinco card MUST offer an activity. Since we donated helmets for this family-friendly event, we have committed to host a helmet check and decoration station! This station will provide materials and stickers that kids and parents can use to decorate helmets and will also assist with helmet fitting as requested. We'll have helmet fitting and bike safety handouts for parents, as well as GABA membership handouts.

We're looking for volunteers who enjoy interacting with kids and families. No skills required. A short training will be provided when you arrive (10 min prior) for your shift. It's a bonus if you have prior helmet fitting experience. I'll be on site all day, but unable to lift anything heavy. Assistance with setup and teardown greatly appreciated!

The event runs from 9 AM to 3 PM. We need volunteers for:
Initial setup (7:30 - 8:30 AM)
First shift (9am - 12 noon)
Second shift (12 noon - 3 PM)
Teardown (3 -3:30 PM)

We're seking to have at least 2 volunters for each activity.
