“Every child should have a toy for Christmas” - Bruce Tucker.
We will meet at 8:30AM in front of Oro Valley Cycles at the corner of Rancho Vistoso and Oracle Road. Come with your bike and yourself decorated. It'll be great fun to see all the decorated people and bikes!!! There may even be small prizes in those two categories....
After a few pictures, wheels rolling at 8:45 and we will get to the Rillito Race Track before the 10:30 Toy Event begins.

Please bring a new unwrapped toy (s). If you are in Oro Valley Bicycles in the next few weeks, feel free to drop some toys in the Toy donation box earlier than the day of the ride. It will be greatly appreciated by the kids in Tucson and the Salvation Army. When bringing a gift, please remember the older kids/teens. Any toy too big to take on the bike---no problem!!! There will be someone to pick up the gifts at Oro Valley Bicycles and deliver them to the Rillito Racetrack Pavilion.

We encourage you to invite the kids, your neighbor's kids, and your neighbors. It is a good way for them to start the Holidays. And if they haven't ever ridden with GABA before, that is perfectly OK. You don't have to be a member to be a part of the Toy Ride.

From Oro Valley Bicycles we will proceed West on Rancho Vistoso, South on the trail that is west of the hospital, SW on the CDO loop multipurpose path, then South on the Santa Cruz loop multipurpose path, and then SE on the Rillito loop multipurpose path to the Rillito Race Track Pavilion. Only the first mile will be on roads, with the rest being on the loop. That is a 21 mile ride (mostly downhill). For those that are being picked up there, you ride is over. For those that are riding back, you are free to go back on your own or with your friends. We will not have an organized ride back to the start.

Route is located HERE

We are heading to Rillito Racetrack pavilion, where we'll deposit all our gifts!!!! There, GABA folks will treat us to something to drink and something to snack on. We'll also meet up with the other cycling groups and turn over the toys to the good people from the Salvation Army.

This Toy Ride will be a SLOW FUN SOCIAL ride. The ride will be a C paced ride rolling downhill at an average of approximately 14 MPH. This is a social ride on the loop (no vehicular traffic to worry about), lots of conversations, and regroupings we will not drop anyone.
