Birds and Brunch! - Stationary Birding, Potluck, SHOREBIRDS, Photo Help Station

Details
Borrow a pair of our binoculars and join Birding For The People for a fun morning of snacks and shorbs (and other birds!)!
This time we’re staying put at one of Portland’s best shorebird spots. We’ll set up a pop-up tent, table, and a digibinning/photo help station while we bird together, share food, and hang out.
This event is family friendly, stationary, and super relaxed — perfect for beginners, kids, and anyone who just wants to enjoy the morning at their own pace and be confused by shorebird ID (we'll try to help).
Bring a chair, some food to share, and your camera or phone if you’d like help with bird photography, or any bird-related apps, or questions.
Sign up here for the potluck sheet
Come for as short or long as you like! Drop in any time. We expect to see some shorbirds (hopefully) definitely herons, ducks, likely birds of prey. Its a mystery! It'll be fun!
### Event Details
- Who’s invited? Everyone! All ages, backgrounds, and birding abilities. If you’ve ever noticed a bird in your life, you’re ready to come bird with us.
- Dress code: Wear layers. It might start cool, it might warm up, it might rain? (I’m not a meteorologist.)
- Optics: Bring binoculars and scope if you have them. If you don’t, we have a scope and binoculars for others to use! We even have toddler binoculars!
- Format: Stationary! We’ll gather in one spot. Big-sit-birding style. Bring a chair if you like. Maybe a blanket or umbrella?
- Location: Rocky terrace overlooking a pond. Closest restrooms are at the Golf Course. Will likely do a bathroom caravan midway through.
- Potluck: Please consider bring something to share. Sign up with the sheet above so we get a good mix of snacks.
- Cost: Free (but bring a snack!) We’re working on banking for our new nonprofit Birding for the People, so for now there’s no suggested donation.
