This exclusive STO event is on Tuesday 20th November in association with, Sydney Blockchain Centre and Huobi Australia. The Blockchain space is officially maturing and here at Crypto Sydney we want to ensure our members are ahead of the curve, so we are bringing you an exceptional lineup on 20th November to talk all things Security Tokens (STO's). Opening presentation - Red Belly Blockchain Vincent Gramoli will present the Red Belly Blockchain - a blockchain that does not use BFT consensus as a black box, but rather solves a new variant of the classic consensus problem that was recently defined for blockchains. Red Belly experimental settings range from hundreds of nodes in a single data-centre to a thousand of nodes on 4 continents under various failure models. The results show that the Red Belly Blockchain performs well. Vincent Gramoli is Head of the Concurrent Systems Research Group at the University of Sydney, a senior researcher at Data61-CSIRO and a Future Fellow of the Australian Research Council. Prior to this, he was affiliated with INRIA, Cornell and EPFL. He is the Chair of the Blockchain Technical Committee at the Australian Computer Society. Educational presentation to open the night by; Jonathon Miller - CEO of Bit Trade Topic: Are STOs the killer app? Security Tokens, or "Smart Securities", are the next wave of tokens. Jonathon will explain what they are, why they are different and how they could radically change the way markets operate. Bio: Jonathon Miller is co-founder and CEO of Bit Trade - a digital currency exchange and blockchain consultancy based in Sydney Australia. Bit Trade is Australia's longest running digital currency exchange with an online platform, an OTC trading desk and APIs. Bit Trade also run an innovation lab, Bit Trade Labs, that specialises in blockchain consulting and bespoke integrations into the Bit Trade platform. Exclusive Panel Speakers: Alex Saunders - CEO & Founder of Alex has been immersed in cryptocurrency since discovering Bitcoin in 2012. Alex has a unique investment style that combines fundamental analysis, technical analysis and market sentiment as key drivers in decision making. Alex’s passion lead him to leave his successful career as a head Pharmacist in 2017, to found Nugget’s News. Anya Nova - Crypto Economist (Power Ledger) Anya is a crypto economist at Power Ledger which is one of Australia’s most exciting blockchain companies. In 2017, Power Ledger completed Australia’s first Initial Coin Offering, raising $34 million dollars. In 2018, Power Ledger won the Extreme Tech Challenge, a global competition of the most innovative global companies run on Sir Richard Branson’s island. Power Ledger is launching Asset Germination Events (AGEs), Australia’s first regulated energy offering utilizing a security token. Rick Klink - Executive Chairman Malta Digital Exchange Malta Digital Exchange (MDX) is focussed on primary and secondary market listing of security tokens. Security Tokens are set to revolutionise the way that capital is raised globally. MDX is at the forefront of Exchanges globally preparing for the STO wave. In 2005, Rick founded D2MX, an independent Australian direct execution StockBroking firm. D2MX rose to over $700 million per month in trading turnover per month. In 2009, Rick founded Bespoke Portfolio, a dealer group focusing on FinTech / RoboAdvice companies providing Managed Account services. In 2013, Rick co-founded OpenMarkets, an independent Australian StockBroking firm. Michael Bacina - Partner Piper Alderman Mike is the founder and lead partner of Piper Alderman’s Blockchain Group and has advised many of Australia’s leading Blockchain projects including exchanges and early ICOs. He is published and presents globally at conferences on legal issues in Blockchain and is passionate about the work needed to tokenise assets and securities over the coming years.

As the leading Blockchain community and knowledge hub in Australia, we aim to help individuals, schools, universities, small business, corporations, not for profits, charities, city councils and all areas of local, federal and overseas governments to better understand Blockchain technology and connect these organisations; and create opportunities for the Blockchain Centre startup community.
