Carnarvon Gorge Camping Trip - Easter 2019

We are camping/hiking at Carnarvon Gorge in Easter 2019 for 4 days. If you want to go then make sure you book your favorite campsite NOW (see 'Campsite Booking' section for how to book your spot at campground of Carnarvon Gorge NP). Although it is about a year away but booking is open and many spots are taken as of today (23rd May 2018). ::::::::::::::::::: IMPORTANT :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: If possible, book your site between 1-12 OR between 29 - 35 so we can have our own communal area close to all of us. All sites within this range are big and can hold 2-3 tents easily. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How to reach: Carnarvon Gorge is about 760Kms (about 10hrs drive) from Brisbane via Roma (478km). Click Here for Google Map & Direction: Camping: We will camp at Carnarvon National Park, next to 'Day Use Area' which has 35 tent spots only. We will reach there on Fri 19th Apr 2019 and camp for 3 or 4 nights. The cost is $6.35/person/night. But you can make your own arrival date/time as it suits you. Camp Facilities: Hot showers ($1 coin for 4 minutes) & gas BBQ (free), flush toilets, flat grassy ground, picnic tables/bench, ranger's office providing information pamphlets, free WiFi etc. Campsite Booking: You will do your own campsite booking NOW to avoid the disappointment (there is no group booking). Visit below National Park website to make online campsite booking (needs to create account if first time) or ring booking office[masked]: NOTE: When booking - Select 'Carnarvon National Park' & 'Carnarvon Gorge Camping area' from the drop down menus. Check here campsite sizes and suitability: Campsite map: About gorgeous walks at Gorge: There are about dozen spectacular and gorgeous worth seeing spots to see on the 'Main Gorge Track' (Class 3) which starts near the camping site. What to bring: enough $1 coins for hot shower, warm camping gear (it can be cold during night), torch, camera, hiking shoes, rain coat, seal-able rubbish bag, insect repellent, cooking stove, chair, table, eski, basic first aid, your medicine, food and snacks for the time you are there. Drinking water, picnic tables, gas BBQ are available at the camp site. DISCLAIMER: This groups is not a formal organization or association. To start with it will be predominately beach camping. Ideas so far are; Double Island Point, Straddie, Inskip, Fraser Island etc.
