What we’re about
Based on the north shore, but with members from all over northeastern Massachusetts, southeastern New Hampshire and beyond, this is the group for paddlers who enjoy their kayaking adventures at a laid back, leisurely pace. For us, it's not how quickly we can get from point "A" to point "B" while on the water. If your idea of kayaking means sharing with friends, new and old, the beauty of our local flat-water lakes and rivers as you paddle, then this group is for you. Some of the places we paddle include the Merrimack, Squamscott, Essex, and Charles rivers; Plum Island; lakes Massabesic, Pawtuckaway, Gardner and Chebacco; and Country, Tuxbury, and Great ponds.
Everyone is welcome to suggest paddle destinations and to help plan future activities, as this is what makes a fun and successful group.
We like to bike, too. See our companion Meet-Up group, North Shore Bicycling for Fun.

See all- Easy Paddle on the Concord River to Minute Man National ParkCarlisle Road Boat Launch, Bedford, MA
The weather on Saturday is looking good -- mostly sunny, temps in the low 80s, and less humid than it's been lately. Come join us for a relaxing, easy-paced paddle to Minute Man National Park in Concord, MA, the cradle of liberty for our country. We'll put in on the Concord River at the Carlisle Road boat launch in Bedford, MA. From there, we'll paddle up river to the park, where we'll stop for a lunch break. Along the way, we'll paddle past the Little Meadow Conservation Area, as well as the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. If you haven't been to Minuteman before, the park is the site of the historic Old North Bridge and the statue commemorating the "shot heard round the world" and the start of the American Revolution.
The round-trip distance for this paddle is approximately 9 miles.
