Apple Picking at Eddy Fruit Farm Sun., Sept. 21st @11am

Let’s walk up to an apple tree, choose the apple, twist it off the branch, clean it by rubbing the organic apple on your pant leg, and bite into it. Hear the crunch. Taste a perfect apple. Think about it: A tree grows fruit! Yum!
Welcome to Eddy’s Fruit Farm on the east side in Chesterland. Most of these Apples you will never find at any grocery store which makes it that much more special to pick the fruit yourself.

This four generation fruit farm has been producing more than 40 varieties of apples for decades. There may be grapes available for picking too.

In September they offer 9 varieties of apples : burgundy, johnamac, gala, elstar, Honeycrisp, MacIntosh (perfect for baking) pixie crunch, macoun, & cortland. Also berries, Bartlett pears, peaches. And some grapes.

My favorite apple, the Shizuka, a perfect juicy, tart, sweet apple, might be available.

FIRST we stop in the store, read the map, grab your clear bag, and we walk to the row of available apples on a gravel road. Listen to the birds singing and crickets chirping hello. We are in no hurry. Breathe the fresh air. Relax. This is a happy, chill place.
They expect you to eat an apple in the field. This is not a task, it’s a gratitude lesson on America’s abundance.
MEET INSIDE the farm stand market by the fresh picked CORN area. I’ll have my Meetup nametag on.
There are many other things for sale in the market including Flowers, pumpkins, gourds, other food, corn, fruit jam, apple fritters, garlic, lettuce, etxc. Buy what you want. This is a farm stand. They take credit cards or cash.
