A big, fun, social trip for NYE! The plan is to have one group top-roping for the beginners, while any trad climbers buddy up and head off for the day. Then we'll all meet up in the evening for dinner and drinks at camp. One night we will head to the public woodfired pizza oven nearby in Natimuk for dinner. I will provide the dough if everyone brings their own toppings. Another night, I might set up the ROC projector in The Pines for some climbing films. If the weather is hot (likely) we can spend afternoons swimming in the river nearby.
We'll drive up Monday evening, climb Tuesday - Thursday, and drive home Thursday afternoon. Trad climbers are welcome to stay as long as they wish. Camping will be at The Pines campground at the base of Mt Arapiles.
Equipment required:
- Climbing helmet
- Harness
- Climbing shoes
- Camping equipment
- Food & water for weekend
- Pizza toppings (share with your car, so there's not too much)
- Sun protection
- Warm clothes (nights are cold at Arapiles)
Camping and climbing items are available for hire in the gear room if required (open on Tuesdays and Thursdays - see roc.org.au (https://roc.org.au/how-we-work/how-to-hire-gear/)).
