Hi climbers! We meet at around 6.00pm and climb for about two to three hours. Beginners are always welcome, please see the Hardrock website. https://www.hardrock.com.au/first-time-climbers To find the group, look for the yellow stand-up sign. If there isn't one, ask one of the staff, and they'll point you in the direction of one of the organisers. Don't worry if you don't have a partner, we'll pair you up - that's the idea. Looking forward to climbing with you!

Don't worry if you don't have a partner, we'll pair you up - that's the idea. At around 8:15ish, a bunch of us head down Franklin St. to the Captain Melville for dinner and/or a drink. The Captain Melville is about fifty metres from Hard Rock, on the same side of Franklin St.
Howdy! Welcome to Whipper Wednesday. Our Wednesday night MeetUp is a great time to meet new people and have some fun on the walls. We aim to meet at 6pm and finding us is easy! There's a yellow sign that we put out just past the totem pole and the group leader will have a tag clipped to their harness. It's about the size of an envelope with big red writing on it that says MeetUp. "But what if I don't have a partner?" I hear you ask. Well, that's the best part! The whole point of MeetUp is getting people together to enjoy the sport of climbing. We'll make sure you get partnered up with someone and you will have a good night. If you're new to climbing, or if this is your first time at Hardrock CBD, be sure to check out the link below. It runs through the basics like cost and safety: https://www.hardrock.com.au/first-time-climbers Now, for the more experienced climber, the one's who can lead, there are a few regulars in the group who have their lead pass, so don't leave your rope at home, bring it along! If you don't have your lead pass for Hardrock (CBD or Nunawading) we can have a chat to the friendly staff and see if there is someone who can assess you on the spot. A quick note for newcomers to Wednesday, i'll put a post up each Wednesday morning with the colour of the shirt i'll be wearing just to help you find me. Don't be a stranger, come and say Hi! Depending on what time we all finish up there's a good pub down the road called the Captain Melville. Kitchen is open until late and the beer is nice and cold. It's a great opportunity to have a laugh and debrief the nights climbing. Can't wait to see you at Whipper Wednesday. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to post on the page or send me a DM. And remember, Just Go Up!
Hi Climbers, We host a technique class for beginner and intermediate level climbers that doubles as a meet-up, a great place to meet others whilst improving your climbing technique! The class is available weekly on Thursdays, starts at 8pm and runs until 9pm - so get in around 7.30pm or earlier for your warm-ups. The class is free with regular entry fees. After arriving, please notify the staff at the desk about joining the class - they will be able to point you in the right direction. All new climbers at our gym are required to fill-out a waiver form and get inducted to our gym prior to climbing, booking this induction is advised but not required if experienced. Lead checks are available but need to be booked in advance, or can alternatively be done at the staff's convenience. Please allow for time prior to the class if it's your first visit and this applies to you. Parking is free, entry prices and other FAQ's can be found on the website: www.cliffhanger.com.au. See you at Cliffhanger, the tallest climbing gym in the Southern Hemisphere! Team Cliffhanger Climbing Gym
