Auth: Build vs Open Source vs Buy (Mark Robustelli, FusionAuth)
Starting a new application? Have an existing application that is growing? Choosing the right authentication solution can make or break your product. Should you buy a solution, build your own from scratch, or try an open-source project? The pros and cons of each approach will be discussed. Whether you are a startup founder, product manager or developer, this session will equip you with the insights needed to make an informed choice that aligns with your business goals and technical requirements.Find Mark at X: @MarkRobustelli and LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-robustelli/
Container Live Migration: Moving Workloads Without Downtime (Kunal Kushwaha, CAST AI)
This talk explores one of the most exciting areas in cloud native today: container live migration. You’ll see how workloads can move across nodes or clusters without downtime, how spot nodes can be drained safely, and how live migration can make your infrastructure more resilient and cost efficient through practical Kubernetes examples.Kunal Kushwaha is a Senior Developer Advocate at CAST AI, where he leads developer relations in the EMEA region, focusing on cloud-native technologies and AI, helping companies modernize their infrastructure and adopt innovative solutions. He is also the founder of WeMakeDevs, a community initiative where he mentors individuals in tech. His educational content on YouTube has been watched by millions. A passionate advocate for open source, Kunal regularly speaks at industry conferences on cloud, AI, and developer growth.

Traditional cloud infrastructure provisioning is slow, expensive, and requires specialized platform engineering skills. What if developers could deploy production-ready infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in under an hour, without sharing credentials or needing deep DevOps expertise? This talk explores how we built Meghdo, a self-service cloud orchestration platform that transforms infrastructure deployment from a weeks-long ops bottleneck into a sub-60-minute developer experience. We'll cover:
• Speed at Scale: How we achieve instant infrastructure provisioning across AWS, GCP, and Azure in under one hour
• Cost-Effective Architecture: Leveraging open-source tools (Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana) to build enterprise-grade capabilities without vendor lock-in
• Zero Trust Security: Implementing time-bound access tokens, IAM impersonation, and RBAC without ever sharing long-lived credentials
• True Self-Service: Enabling any developer to provision multi-cloud infrastructure without platform engineering expertise
• Multi-Cloud Reality: Technical patterns for truly cloud-agnostic deployments that work consistently across providers
You'll leave with practical insights on building developer-centric platforms that prioritize security, speed, and cost-effectiveness while eliminating traditional ops bottlenecks.Ram Swaminathan has spent over 30 years of his career launching products and services as start up as well as in consulting roles. Built and successfully exited an IT Services business, an eCommerce Product venture and EdTech SaaS platform in the past. He worked as consultant and programme manager building Data Centres and Cloud migrations for major Banking, Financial Services, Retail and Distribution businesses in the UK over the last 15 years. In his current venture, Ram has co-founded Meghdo, the next generation Cloud and AI SaaS platform that aims to make a big difference in how scalable multi-cloud infrastructures can be build using automation and AI.
