Winter BIG SING with Humble Harmony Community Song Circle
Details
Join Humble Harmony community song circle for our BIG SING and potluck, on Saturday, Dec. 13, 1:30pm at Nanoose Bay Library Hall. At the end of every season, instead of a concert, folks from my three groups in Nanaimo and Parksville gather together somewhere in between, and celebrate by singing the songs we've been learning. Friends, family, and the community at large are welcome to join in. It’s a community sing! ALL VOICES WELCOME (listeners too).
Admission is by donation. PLEASE RSVP (in case of cancellation due to snow).
1:30pm - song circle; 3-4pm: potluck / snackluck.
If you’d like to stay for the potluck, please bring something to share: there’s a full kitchen in the hall, with dishes and cutlery, fridge and oven. Ginger-lemon tea will be served. Nanoose Library Hall is a beautiful community space with great acoustics!
Humble Harmony is a non-performing, experiential community singing group focused on the joy of singing in harmony, imperfectly. We are part of the Ubuntu Choirs Network which believes that singing together is a universal human birthright.
The songs we’re singing are on the themes of Resilience and Belonging:
Honor The Dark - Lea Morris
One by One - Michael Stillwater
Resilient - Rising Appalachia
Ripple - The Grateful Dead
Singing With The Wind - Sarina Partridge
Siyahamba - originated as a freedom song in South Africa during apartheid; ours is a secular version.
Tue Tue - A playful song from Ghana
Join us and experience the magic and connection of community singing!
