URBAN HIKE: "The Neighborhoods" Sunwatch Indian Village Winter Solstice sunrise
Details
Let's get together and explore the unique neighborhoods and areas that Dayton and vicinity have to see!
For this Urban let's go to the ancient Sunwatch Indian Village.
The sunrise marks the first day of winter and the shortest day and longest night of the year.
Sunrise is at 7:54am. I'm going to arrive at 7:15. They open at 7. Come on, you can do it! Set your clocks and let's see what all the fuss is about.

This is a public event and they are serving coffee and pastries and free admission into the village. There's an interesting main building you can read all about the village and tour the grass roof buildings. Read about the sunrise and how it affected the people way back then.
Let's walk around the grounds, which are small and only about a half mile to get through. But these buildings are seriously unreal!
I drive a green Chevrolet Equinox with black wheels.
