Time to hike with Mountain Laurel at Taylorsville Metropark bike path. The bike paths have been plowed so it is safer walking than on the trails. It is a mostly flat hike with one hill. We will hike over the dam and check out the new bike path extending into Vandalia. The hike will be about 3 to 3.5 miles. We will be hiking at a slow speed of about 2 to 2.5 mph.

The area that is now Taylorsville MetroPark was once one of the busiest crossroads in the country, the meeting place of major transportation arteries — the Old National Road, Great Miami River, the Miami-Erie Canal and railroads. Today, the area serves as the crossroads of bike trails, hiking trails and river recreation.
