Distance 68kms , 620m ascent
Join us for a cycle out from Dundalk to Flagstaff through the Cooley peninsula, returning via Omeath and Carlingford.
Here is the plan for the day:

  1. Meeting outside Dundalk train station at 10.50am..
  2. We exit Dundalk and take the R173 towards Carlingford from Ballymacscanlan, and head into the Cooley mountains towards Omeath at Jenkinstown, passing the Long Woman’s Grave.
  3. From Omeath we climb to the stunning viewing point over Carlingford Lough and the Mourne mountains at Flagstaff.
  4. From Flagstaff we return to Omeath and on to Carlingford before continuing back to Dundalk.
  5. You can travel to Dundalk on the Dublin to Belfast train from Connolly Station at 9.50 arriving in Dundalk at 10.49
  6. You need to book your bicycle on the Irish Rail train. We plan to return on the 16.13 train from Dundalk to Connolly Station.

Please wear a helmet and bring a tube etc in case you get a puncture.
Please note - It is every participant's responsibility to ride safely, follow the rules of the road, and come prepared with the proper equipment.
