What we're about

Welcome to the Dublin Easy Wheelers, a cycle Touring group.
We are an active, friendly cycling group that meets every Sunday and Thursday evening, We also do weekends away and each year we do one or two cycling trips to some of the wonderful cycling locations abroad, Spain, Italy, France etc

We are not about speed, endurance or competition.
We cycle to see new places and enjoy the outdoors.
So whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a complete beginner, Dublin Easy Wheelers is a great way to get out and explore. The group welcomes cyclists of all levels and provides a supportive and friendly environment to help you build your confidence on two wheels.

What's the usual setup for a Sunday cycle?
Meet at 930am and head off, stopping for coffee and a chat about halfway. Usually back in Dublin by about 3 pm.
Sometimes we drive or take a train to start of a cycle.

Do you have rules?
1. You must wear a cycling helmet.
2. Your bike must be in good safe working condition
3. On busy narrow roads cycle single file. Please observe the rules of the road.

Dublin to Glencullen Loop

Portobello Harbour

Join us for a cycle out to Glencullen and back.

🚨Warning: this cycle has a steep/long climb.
The total distance is 30km, but it has 450m of climbing taken on all at once. For perspective, 450m is twice the amount of climbing as the Thursday Howth cycle. If you are unsure of your ability to do this, I recommend trying the Thursday Howth Cycle first. We do not go fast up the climb, we go as slow as needed.

🚨Please have back and front lights on your bike for this cycle

Here is our plan for the evening:

1️⃣We leave at 6:30PM from Portobello Harbour.
2️⃣We cycle South to where we'll climb up to Glencullen via R116.
3️⃣If time allows, we'll make a stop at the blue light pub for a break
4️⃣After break, we'll head back to starting point via Ballyedmonduff Rd and R117.

This is a short evening route with a fair bit of climbing with some great views throughout the ride.
