Before you RSVP for this ride, PLEASE READ THE RIDE DESCRIPTION BELOW CAREFULLY.

All departure and return times are approximated. Please keep this in mind if you have any plans to return at a certain time, which is discouraged.
Bring your own food since there is nowhere to purchase food along the bike route.
Drive your car to Alameda Creek Regional Trail Staging Area parking lot in Union City. Park and unload there.
ARRIVE: 9:15am to meet, greet and choose your small group.
There is a porta-potty at the parking lot.
LEAVING: 9:30am sharp.

We meet at the Alameda Creek Regional Trail Staging Area parking lot near 34988 Eastin Drive, Union City, past the Alameda County Fire Station 30. Enter the above address in your GPS, and then follow signs to Alameda Creek Staging Area. We will not meet at this address, but at the parking lot/staging area near this address.

This ride will be all dirt, on flat bike trails as well as steep hills. An eMTB (electric mountain bike) with mid-drive or a strong rear wheel direct drive is recommended, as we will be going up very steep hills. No roads or cars!
We'll do the Coyote Hills loop first, through beautiful marshlands along the Alameda Creek and Baylands. Numerous waterfowl bird watching will be possible, so bring your binoculars and cameras! We will be seeing Egrets, Herons, multiple species of ducks, raptors, pelicans, hummingbirds, and many others.

Bring a picnic lunch and drink, as we will not be going near places that sell food. It is suggested that you wear khaki, green, camouflage, or neutral colored cloths, as bright yellow/green/pink safety jackets scare the wildlife away. Plus, we will be riding on trails without cars, so no need for bright clothes. Ebikes with mountain bike or fat tires are required. Total riding miles is about 20 miles, so choose the number of ebike batteries accordingly.
