Whats Stopping Australia Getting to Net Zero?

Details

Speaker: Tony Wood AM, Director of the Energy Program at the Grattan Institute

Topic: Australia has committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2050, but after falling for fourteen years, our emissions reductions appear to have flatlined. What is going on? What are the political, economic and technical roadblocks at play?

Tony Wood AM is Director of the Energy Program at the Grattan Institute and previously an executive at Origin Energy. From 2009 to 2014 he was Program Director of Clean Energy Projects at the Clinton Foundation and he provided an industry perspective to the first Garnaut climate change review. In 2018 he was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia and in 2019 became a Fellow to the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.
