Last Minute - West Boylston Rail Trail - Sat July 19 - 9 AM

Saturday is forecast to be cooler and much less humid.

This is a fairly easy 6 mile hike at the rail trail in West Boylston. Some gradual elevation change. We will walk three miles from the large parking lot off Thomas Street to the trail head at River Street and return the same way. We will stop along the way for lunch or snacks.
Total elevation gain: 200 feet.
Tortoise time time: 3.0 hours
Pace: Moderate to slow
Terrain: Mostly a packed dirt rail trail as wide as a road running besides the Quinapoxet River. Very short side excursion to see the old Springdale textile mill site with self guiding signs along a trail.
Where?
Meet at the rail trail parking lot off of Thomas Street in West Boylston.
Clothing and Gear
Please wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots.
Bring sunscreen, bug spray and a hat.
Bring water and a snack.

Remember the rules:
Feel free to bring a friend, but make sure they first join the group and sign up for the event.
Please be on time so that everyone is ready to leave from the parking lot at 9 AM
If you sign up for an event but will not be attending, change your response ASAP so that others can attend and we are not waiting for you.
Check Meetup for cancellations and changes in meeting times and locations before each event.
You are all adults and are expected to make decisions about your own safety and physical abilities.
Wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water.
Move to the side for oncoming walkers on narrow trails.
If you decide to return to your car early or leave the group for any other reason, tell someone.
If you are struggling or need assistance, tell someone.
