Metaethics & Moral Constructivism (Online)
Details
For our next online meeting, there will be an informative presentation on metaethics and moral constructivism. Following that, we will dive into a thoughtful discussion on the prospect of grounding ethical theories. One metaethical view that has built a lot traction is moral constructivism. Moral constructivism holds that moral statements, such as "torture is wrong", are objective, binding, and normative while acknowleding that morals are constructs of the mind and thus not dependent on anything supernatural.
