GO: Birmingham Christmas Markets 2025

How about another trip to the Christmas Markets in Birmingham for old times sake? This has become a trademark GO:Heart Of England event since it began, often copied but never bettered. And once again we would like to uniquely provide the occasion of choice for seeing this festival at it's best midweek during November.... before everyone else goes, the onset of December temperatures, and we're all tired of the nuisance of weekend crowds.

Early Announcement:
Just to annoy some of you, we're announcing this event in late May. But not so crazy, as the date is only just over 5 months away.

When & Where:
We will meet 18:00 to 18:45 at The Good Intent Bar, so that we are not standing outdoors waiting, and can find each other easily! This is a very interesting venue, being Birmingham's first/only bar which is run as a charity, though sadly this doesn't mean free drinks!

Address; 32-33 Great Western Arcade, Birmingham (which is situated just off Colmore Row, opposite Snowhill Station).

Cost: None, just what you buy!

The Excursion:
At around 19:00 we will head off to Victoria Square to explore the Christmas Markets (including the World Fayre Markets, Frankfurt Markets and Local Craft Markets) and enter into the public festivity. Allow plenty of room for cold European lager and exotic sausages, or warming mulled ciders and wines. Usually there are some very interesting products to sample in the local produce market, arguably upstaging the Global/European brands. Bring hat and gloves if the weather justifies.

Sticking Together:
Once it concludes at 9pm or when we've seen enough we'll head off back to The Good Intent Bar to rest our legs and mingle a bit more. In fact we can use The Good Intent Bar as a base point for everyone, so that if it rains, or you've seen enough of the Markets, or are out of contact/sync with the rest of us, that is where you should be able to find other group members

To minimize organizational misery of constant text messages and losing people, please be at The Good Intent Bar at the start, and keep up with the group, and join us there at the end (however briefly) to say your farewell. In order to stick with the group.

RSVP Commitment:
Withdrawing in the last 24 hours is impolite. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals) .
