Socially Working Book Club
Details
This is a virtual monthly meetup discussion for anyone working in a social work-related field, specifically intended for therapists, those working in healthcare, health, wellness... any job intended to help people live their healthiest lives. We will meet for an hour to discuss a book to help grow personally and professionally. In addition to learning things, my hope is that this would also be an opportunity to connect with colleagues and network. Reading picks could be any book related to therapy/social work, mental health, trauma, cultural competency, or really any resources that will help us grow as humans and helpers.
"But I don't have time to read a whole book/I don't like reading!"
That's ok! If you want to have productive discussion and learn some things from your peers, we want you there! We will be basing our conversation around the book and will reference as a resource, BUT even if you don't read all or even most of the book, you are welcome to join in the conversation and/or listen to the discussion! Additionally, I am committed to only choosing books also available on audio to make it easier to take in content.
Meetings will be virtual. RSVP to the event and I will send you the link to join.
This next meeting (the first of 2026!) will be Thursday, January 15th 5:30-6:30 pm
We will be reading and discussing topics from Gabor Mate's The Myth of Normal.
Feel free to message if you have any questions!
