Buxton - Quarries and Dales
Details
A 10 - 11 mile walk with a difference showing two contrasting sides of the Peak District. Some steep, narrow ascents and descents, small section of road walking and one waterlogged track.
The route takes us past Waterswallows quarry and through the impressive lunar landscape of Tunstead limestone works. We return via the Monsal Trail, Wye Dale and the secretive Woo Dale (Woo Dale limestone is quarried at Tunstead limeworks)
Post walk drink in Wye Bridge House (Wetherspoons 😃) opposite car park.
