A moderate Good Friday walk starting from New Mills, visiting Mellor Cross and the surrounding countryside.

Roughly 10 miles, decent pace but nothing too strenuous, it is Good Friday after all and we’ve got the Skipton walk on Saturday 😃

The the same start point as my last New Mills walk but we won’t be revisiting the same area 👍 Lots of rolling hills and lovely views of Manchester and the Peak District.

Post walk drink in New Mills, parking fees and toilet info to be confirmed.

Climb the impressive Sharp Haw and neighbouring Rough Haw with spectacular views over the North York moors
Car park is easy to find and reasonable price all day
Plenty of cafes and pubs for a drink at the end

Please note this car park doesn't open until 9.30am
There is another long stay car park in Skipton but it's v expensive

let’s make it an Hillbillies Easter treble, with Michelle’s Mellor walk on Friday, Caroline and Andy’s Sharp Haw on Saturday and this on Sunday, I’m going to start putting a few Sunday walks on in future, sort of recce walks see parking etc, I know everyone can’t always do Saturdays, so hoping this will suit a few, it’s a great area, and great pub at end.
Walk will be around 9 miles, but I’ll tailor it to suit weather on day. 😎

So much here on this walk of around 11miles in the beautiful Goyt Valley, we will visit the Spanish chapel and the ruins of Errwood Hall, we also take in Windgather rocks, where we have great views over to the distant Lyme Park.
Going to restrict numbers to 20 initially, as this will also be posted on my mate Gordon’s group (Peak District Walkers)
