The artist (and late mother of Linda Morris from INDY50+), Louise Hostert Morris (1925-2022) was an accomplished welder, mother, animal lover, and artist. She began her career during World War II as a welder at age 19, becoming a teacher of welding for the Navy and writing a detailed manual of aircraft welding (photo from the 1940s). After her daughters were grown, she studied art with a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright and began painting at age 50. Her paintings include a wide variety of genres: landscape, seascape, still life, portrait, wildlife, and some from her private collection will also be available. Most are oil paintings with a few watercolors and other media. Over 170 pieces of art will be available for sale. Suggested prices range from $25-$3,500. Light refreshments will be served.
