Faces of Poverty IX Halloween Fundraiser - Wheaton

While there has been a long hiatus since 2019, the stars have finally lined up for this event to happen again in our new Wheaton home. The infusion of Meetup people with other friends and family has made for a wonderful mix over the years. (The new house can comfortably accommodate ~100 people)

Each year two non-profits are chosen, one international and one local -

Far– The World Central Kitchen is first to the frontlines, providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises. Their new model for disaster relief helps devastated communities recover.

Near- The People’s Resource Center has been responding to hunger and poverty since 1975 in DuPage County. They offer food, clothing, and rent assistance while connecting people with resources as education and jobs.

The required minimum donation is $20 a person. Cash or checks made out to Edward Allard will be split between the non-profits. One can also write a check directly to either organization. 100 % of the proceeds will go to the two non-profits. If you cannot attend, please still consider donating.

The many decorations I have accumulated over the years will be featured. We will provide light bites and savory snacks, desserts, soda, water and ice. BYOB- Please bring whatever alcohol you are drinking.

Costumes are required, which makes it more magical for everyone, Minimal and maximum effort costumes are all welcome!

Jason V the DJ will be playing dance music 8:00 to 11:30 from a provided fun list, while my eclectic mix of cocktail and dance music will begin and end the evening.

There is lots of street parking near our home. This will be posted on two meetup group sites. We look forward to seeing you!
