Te Ara Rama Matariki Light Trail Walk

Details
A change of night offers a chance to explore Te Ara Rama Matariki Trail in Glen Innes. This event has now been held for several years and we will get a chance to experience this as we explore some pathways around Meadowbank and Glen Innes.
We will meet in the carpark by Sunhill Garden Centre at 317 St Johns Rd, St Heliers, Auckland. From here we will walk along the Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai (the path of land and sea) a cycleway from St Johns Rd to Merton Rd. We will spend some time on the light trail and then return back to St Johns Rd.
You will need to bring a torch and wet weather gear.
The Matariki light trail turns Maybury Reserve into a magical landscape. Enjoy light displays of Māori-inspired imagery set among thousands of fairy lights. Wrap up warm and enjoy Māori New Year celebrations in Glen Innes.
Group members have indicated that they like to walk in a smaller group with a preferred maximum of 25 Therefore the limit on our walks will remain at 25. Thank you for your understanding.
Our Intrepid bank account is 06-0996-0609501-04 if you want to transfer money for the gold coin donation. (Use your meetup name as a reference.) We request a gold coin for each walk.
Please note we request a gold coin donation for participation in order to cover some of the costs incurred by the leaders for their organisation. Items such as outdoor magazine subscriptions, safety equipment (eg PLB) and the website costs etc
