J-Pop Jams: August

What is it?
Bring your instrument and/or your voice and meet up with some like-minded J-Pop fans to jam!

What songs? anything J-Pop! Some of our all-time favourites are Himawari no Yakusoku (from Doraemon), Wherever you are (One OK Rock), Matsuri (Fuji Kaze) and Ai wo komete hanabata wo (Superfly).

The vibe? Acoustic / soft electric. Acoustic guitars , cajon/bongos/congas etc, electric piano and (soft) electric bass all OK, but not shredding on electric guitar or pounding drums.

I’ve never performed on stage before, should I be nervous?
No you shouldn’t! Many of our members will be there and are just about the most supportive and friendly people you’ll ever meet. They are also massive otaku/weebs so if you’re interested in it they probably are too.

Why do I need to register?
It helps us out a lot, because:

• It’s much easier for us to plan the schedule for the 2 hours, we are expecting a lot of people wanting to perform!
• If you need accompaniment (e.g. you’re a vocalist and need a backing band), we may not know the song you want to play, so it’ll mean we’ll a) have time to learn it, or b) can work with you on a different song.

We may not be able to accommodate everyone but we'll do our best!

I don’t want to perform, just come by and listen, is that fine?
Absolutely!
