Description: Support for Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2025. Microsoft wants you to buy a new computer. But what if you could make your current one fast and secure again? If you bought your computer after 2010, there's most likely no reason to throw it out. By just installing an up-to-date Linux operating system you can keep using it for years to come.
At this workshop, you can bring any of your old laptops or desktops and we'll install Linux on them together. Not ready to go all-in yet? We'll show you how you can install a Linux distro in a virtual machine so you can explore the OS until you are ready for full time! This event will be fun and full of learning and experimentation!
