Description: Most of us are forced to use Microsoft Teams, Slack, or, if you're very unlucky, Google Meet at work. These communications tools are convenient and commonplace in today's jobs, but they still have the pitfalls of proprietary tech- vendor lock-in, privacy concerns, and giving up ownership of your org's data. At this session, we'll explore several open-source alternatives that you can self-host for your organization or even for your friends using Matrix instead of Discord.
