'Showing & Telling' w/Author and Tutor Emma Darwin

Back by popular demand, award-winning author and highly respected creative writing tutor, Emma Darwin, will teach us the difference between 'showing' and 'telling' and how to use both to improve your storytelling. If you've ever been in a session and been told 'show, don't tell' and been unsure what to do next, this is for you!

Emma's an expert on creative writing (see This Itch of Writing: the studio (http://www.thisitchofwriting.com/)) and one of our favourite teachers in this space. What she doesn't know about good writing you can only see with a microscope. Sign up for this session and never be unsure of when to show and when to tell in your own writing again. Emma will teach for 90 minutes followed by 30mins for questions and discussion.

Emma Darwin (www.emmadarwin.com) is an award-winning historical fiction author. Her latest book, the creative non-fiction 'This is Not a Book About Charles Darwin: a writer’s journey through my family', (https://www.emmadarwin.com/writingindex#/this-is-not-a-book-about-charles-darwin/) was published in February; she is also the author of the novels The Mathematics of Love and A Secret Alchemy, and non-fiction Get Started in Writing Historical Fiction; her short fiction has been published and broadcast.

Location: Draft House is at 55 Charterhouse Street, EC1M 6PR (Tel no. 020 7253 1737). It's a 5 min walk from Farringdon tube (8 mins from Chancery Lane). I have hired the whole of downstairs with our own bar staff, so please head down there rather than buying drinks at main bar.
