Urban Hike - Hollywood Dell, Hollywood Heights, Whitley Heights

This hike hits 3 distinct neighborhoods - Hollywood Dell, Whitley Heights and Hollywood Heights. Highlights include a hidden temple, a faux Norman castle, the first celebrity enclave in Los Angeles (home to Rudolph Valentino, Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, W.C. Fields, Gloria Swanson, Marlene Dietrich and many others), the High Tower neighborhood (accessible only on foot), Yamashiro, the Magic Castle and more. We will also go up and down (mostly up) 8 stairways.

• Speed: average 2.5 miles per hour
• Distance: 6 miles.
• Elevation gain: ~800 feet
• Duration: ~2.5 hours total
• Bathrooms: Use the restroom at Gelson's before we start. No bathrooms on the walk unless we find an accessible construction port-a-potty.
• Parking: available in the neighborhood around the start location. Also free street parking along Franklin on Sundays.
• Rain: postpones the hike

By joining this event, each member and their guest accepts full responsibility for knowing their abilities and limitations and releases the host/organizer from any and all injuries, health issues, material losses and getting lost. Each member shall make their guests aware of these policies and release the host from all liability.
